This week's story comes from the indigenous tribes of North America.

I first came across this legend when reading Braiding Sweetgrass by the indigenous writer and ecologist Robin Wall Kimmerer. She talks a lot about the gift economy and the reciprocity of community and life. This story is a beautiful representation of this.

It should of course be a woman from one of those tribes that shares their own story, however I hope you enjoy my version which is offered with love.
