The Little Giantess

This week's story is from Mexico about love, being true to yourself, and the power of the winds. We have been hit by several storms recently and my local woodland has been flattened. My partner asked me about the role of wind in the environment, what is it good for? - Well it's good for encouraging strong root and trunk growth. It opens up spaces to allow regeneration to happen, encouraging natural succession. If you have ever stood on the top of a hill facing into the wind, you will also realise that it makes us feel alive and connected to the elemental forces that move our world.

This version is of The Little Giantess is mostly based on one related by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estés in her book The Power of the Crone. It encourages us to be true to ourselves despite the pressures to fit in.

It was recorded on stage at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on 10 Feb. Many thanks to Sarah Wedderburn-Ogilvy for the videography. Its a little longer than usual and I hope you enjoy x
